Professionals rely on its precision and speed, but mostly because it feels right. The UI stays incognito until you’re ready to snag a pencil, pen, marker, or paintbrush. ![]() SketchBook 2023 by Autodesk is specifically designed to work with pen tablets, such as Wacom Bamboo, Intuos, and Cintiq products, or with Windows tablet devices to deliver an authentic drawing experience.Ī truly elegant design knows when to get out of your way. The new Sketchbook Pro release on the Microsoft Store is now available, however it is optimized for desktop use with a pen peripheral. People who have this version can continue to use it, but it will not be updated. The bug is bad - but not knowing what's happening is worse since it means we can't decide how to more forward. The UWP version of the app previously distributed by Autodesk through the Microsoft Store could not be transferred due to technical dependencies on the store backend. We also work with the customer and keep them informed of where things are.Īnd I think THAT is the problem. We also turn around bugs VERY quickly the moment any customer identifies one. ![]() The company I work for right now has been testing our product with Win 10 for months AND Office 2016 since we got our hands on the CTP. Three week turn around (or longer) on a bug that literally renders your product unusuable on the most widely used operating system on the planet that's seeing 1600 upgrades per second, seems a little slow to me. We're now a week past retail shipping - or three weeks past 10240 release to fast ring. this should have been caught the day 10240 was sent to the fast ring (and I assume they have at least ONE QA person in the fast ring) and probably should have been caught when 10166 hit the fast ring almost a month ago. Now, Win10 has made a change to how DPI scaling works, which is what's tripping this bug - BUT. But, I can tell you from using Sketchbook Pro that they've done something oddball in how they implement their touch and drawing actions. like this one.ĭon't get me wrong - I LOVE this application - it's one piece of software that has become critical to me, which is why I'm upset about it not working - this bug has stopped me dead in my tracks. The one before it was 10166 and it was pretty close to feature complete at the system level and if they had done a solid QA regression on it - it should have been good enough to catch at least the big problems. When a major new release of a primary operating system is pending, you start testing early - even on early betas - just to catch potential problem points. The final version was seeded two weeks before final release. Windows 10 has been available in some form or another to developers since Oct 24, 2014. I'm sorry - but as an actual software developer who's worked on a lot of commercial apps - you're wrong.
